painful sneezing

Im about 5w4d pregnant with twins. i was just wondering if its normal to get pains low in your stomach when sneezing. i was sharp, right in the middle, and lasted about 10 seconds then was gone. I have also been getting some random pains one either side that come and go throughout the day. Do i need to worry about any of this or is it just normal growing pains?

yep completely normal, when you move quick...like sneezing, coughing or even just a certain way like getting up from a sitting or laying position can cause this, if you know yoru gonna sneeze it helps to lean forward and kinda brace yourself... this will most likely continue thru the whole pregnancy, may even get worse(i know rollong over in bed once i had a big tummy could hurt sometimes)...this is all because your round ligaments (they connect the front portion of the uterus to the groin) contract and relax like muscles but slower, when you move suddenly it can make them contract quickly causing pain... not anything dangerous and does last very long either...if the pain persists even after resting, gets worse, or is accompanied by bleeding then definitely call your Dr ASAP

I still get those and I'm 19 weeks! Still painful at times when I sneeze. I do believe its stretching. Don't worry about it unless the pain is unbearable and you have a lot of bleeding! Hope this helped... Good luck & Congratz!
