Possible Clubfoot seen in ultrasound

I had an anatomy ultrasound done at 19w3d to find out the sex of my baby. The whole thing took about an hour and a half, they were thorough and laughing cause my baby boy was so active and giving them a rough time. At the end of the ultrasound, the doctor read over the pictures they took of him, and told me everything looked okay, but he may have a clubfoot. I have another ultrasound in two weeks so they can look again. So naturally, I looked online about clubfoot, and freaked myself out so bad because of all the possibilities that can come with clubfoot. Does having a clubfoot MEAN something else is wrong too?

My friends son has club foot.  He has to wear a leg brace on each foot. So far, he doesn't need surgery.  He's 11 months old. He has no other problems or health issues.

I had clubfoot when I was a baby. I never had to have a brace or surgeries, it straightened itself out. I am completely normal now. None of my sisters had it only me. Don't worry too much :)

Wow! Sorry about your experience. From what I've learned its only caught in ultrasound I believe around 60% of the time. I hate to put him through it all but its what's best so he can lead a normal little boys life (:

one thing i must say to you be GLAD and HAPPY they told you about it with my first son they kept telling me something was wrong with my baby and kept sending me to specialists and they said nothing is wrong but maybe a low birthweight.. when it came time for me to have my son april of 2012. my son was born everything fine except for my man to look into my eyes with tears running down his face to say somethings wrong with our sons feet. it took 2 days for them to tell me my son was born with SEVERE BILATERAL CLUBFOOT. he is now almost 3 and his feet are still not normal and i honestly dont think they will ever be. and im sooo TIRED of putting him through all these tests, casts. and surgeries

Ty! Got my AFP results, and they came back normal. Unsure if they did a quad screening. He only has clubfoot, and a slightly dilated kidney. which we found out is possibly due to his father having a very mild case of clubfeet when he was born, (his feet were turned in just slightly, and he also had to have the tendons in his feet cut, and wore special shoes til he was 8 to keep him from walking on his toes! he was also knock-kneed, which was corrected when he was 16).  just not enough bad enough to be diagnosed with it. But the DR who talked to me about his ultrasound said it definitely does sound like he got it from his daddy! Genetics & Ultrasound department called yesterday, and do not want to see me again until im 32+ weeks! So im taking that as a great sign! This is my first pregnancy, and I can honestly say I was stressed from the time they did the 19wk ultrasound, until my 21wk ultrasound, and still worry a little, but the ultrasound techinician (who had been doing it for 8 years) reassured me if there was ANY need for concern in his ultrasound, she would've told me and seen it right away. She said he looks completely healthy other than his foot(or feet! guess he wanted to match them?) and his kidney!  =] I will post a pic of him in my profile when he comes! Not too long now!  Im due May 30th! They're guessing him to be a big boy.

Update!! Little Emmett is officially diagnosed in the left foot with clubfoot. Right foot may be a mild case, seeing as he holds it in a clubfoot position, but then hes able to move it. His kidney is still slightly dilated (they weren't concerned about that. apparently its common in male babies, and most the time corrects itself either before or after birth. but they will monitor it.) Other than that, he's ahead in his growth percentile by a week and 2 days, he has no other signs of any abnormalities. They did a fetal heart echo gram and said everything looked great! They did the ultrasound in 1D and 2D, and once they seen he may have bilateral clubfoot, they did 3D which was amazing to see. He's super active, and has long arms and legs! and is  DEF a boy! I go in six weeks for another ultrasound so they can see his feet again and his kidney =] he has no other markers for it. I did have the quad screening test, but haven't heard back from it. I had it 1/22. I have an OBGYN appointment 2/4 so im  hoping they can tell me then if it came back okay!

Update: Seen Maternal Fetal Medicine, they said since club foot is a marker for trisomy 18, among other disorders, we have to go to Magee's for a further ultrasound. Other than his foot, and his one kidney being a little dialated, they said because of the position of the baby they couldn't get a good look at his little heart. He has no other markers of trisomy 18, which she kept explaining is great news. I will go to Magee's, have the thorough ultrasound, a fetal echo-gram of his heart, get genetics testing done and talk to genetics counseling. She said all other markers he does not have, hes measuring a week and 2 days ahead, which is also a great sign. Cant help but still be stressed by it, because there is still a chance he could have it. Prayers would be very well appreciated.

That makes me feel better. There's no genetic history of a clubfoot in either family, so it makes me wonder. But I read its common, the only known connection is Spina Bifida, Trisomy 18 and Downs Syndrome.

That's great to hear. I probably shouldn't have looked it up. They said everything looked okay, then added he may have a clubfoot and I would have to redo an ultrasound to know for sure.

My friend jake was born with both club feet . He just had to get tons if surgery when he was a baby. Also his feet looks weird now and he has to order his shoes special because he's feet still don't nessisarily look normal, but he can't still walk just fine. He also can't stand or walk for to long because it starts to hurt his back or feet when he's on his feet for to long. Besides his feet he is totally normal, I even dated him for a few weeks and we are still really good friends because he's now dating my best friend lol. But like I said he doesn't have any other medical issues :3
