Possible Miscarriage?

I am 6 weeks pregnant and i have my first ultrasound in one week. I keep hearing about all my friends and family members having miscarriages, is it common for your first to be a miscarriage? should i be scared or nervous?
and how many weeks is it safe to stop worrying?

They say once you hear the heartbeat your chances drop.
And drop again even more once you get to your 12th week aka your 2nd trimester.

You're NEVER really outta the ball park until you actually have your baby though.
Yeah, once you get into the weeks of pregnancy that I'm around at 29+ weeks, your baby has a chance of survival, but could still die.
Even when you're full term at 37+ weeks, you're not outta the ball park because anything can happen to you or the baby during labor and delivery.
Or something can even happen before labor and delivery when you're full term.
The cord can get wrapped around the neck and the baby can die.

Anything can happen.
Pregnancy to me is one big giant stress bomb.
I'm a MISERABLE pregnant women.
I'm always afraid of my water breaking before I'm full term.
I'm always afraid my baby's just randomly gunna die, or the cord's gunna wrap around it's neck and kill it.
I'm always afraid, and even STILL-
with my daughter-

I have OCD and it causes me to have these compulsions to have to get up over and over and over again, and no matter how many times I check to see if she's still breathing.
I'm TERRIFIED of S.I.D.S. [[Sudden Infant Death Syndrome]] and usually it only occures in babies 2-4 months old. My daughter's 11 months old and I **STILL** am always afraid something's gunna happen to her!

I can't enjoy my pregnancies.
I can't enjoy my newborns.
I'm always afraid for the worst.
But that's mostly because I have OCD and issues that cause me to be like that.
You should enjoy your pregnancy, enjoy your baby and live life without fear.
If I could I would. So you should.

Usually they tell you once you are out of your first trimester you are a lot less likely to miscarry. I don't think it is typical to miscarry your first child, just some women are unlucky. I think that as long as your obgyn thinks that everything is good then I would go with that.  Good luck and congrats!
