Possible TMI but need answers
Im 21 weeks pregnant. The last couple days my urine has had a maple syrup smell to it. I had a waffle with some maple syrup on it yesterday morning, but this is the first time, even when eating the waffles earlier in this pregnancy, that this has happened. Any one else experience this and if so what happened?
I have my appointment coming up soon and will mention it to my OB. Thanks for helping
Its usually just a sign of excess sugar in your body...but sometimes they associate sweet smelling urine with diabetic symptoms...i wouldn't worry though, just ask your doctor at your next check up
Diabetics spill excess sugar into their urine. Ask about taking your glucose tolerance test if you have not taken it already.. Other signs of diabetes are excessive urination, thirst, and hunger which all pregnant women seem to have in common so it could be difficult to tell :/
