Is it okay to drink water while you are fasting for the glucose test? This is going to be a long 12hr...

You can drink water before, but not at the office after you've drank the drink because they don't want you to pee it out lol that's what the nurse told me when I was there

Thanks ladies! I have had the test with my other two kiddos...i just couldnt remember the rules. :) The test is normally given between 27-30weeks. They are giving it to me because i have a strong family line of diabetes, even though I have never developed diabetes while preg. Pregnancy can cause your body to be out of wak, so it is still a good idea to be tested. Diabetes is not something you want to play around weather or not you are preg. It can cause your baby to be huge and not able to regulate its own blood sugar which it would require a nicu stay. It will also cause you problems if left undetected and unmanaged.  I eat healthy and exercise but there is always that chance...

How far are you when you take the test? I'm 22w and I think I'm  going to refuse the test. I'm healthy, I'm not over eating and gaining unhealthy weight.
