Is there anything I can do to increase my cintractions strength?

I am 36 weeks and 3 days, I recived celistone steriods back at 27 weeks in case I went into labor early based on previous births ( 34 weeks, 35 weeks and 37 weeks) Last thursday (july 8th) at 36 weeks on the dot I started having contractoins. At the office I was at 1 cm and contracting about every 5 mins so I went home and cleaned house (thinking thiis was it and trying to get things back in order) my contractions increased to 2-3 mins apart but didnt get any stronger, hunny suggested we go to the hospital just incase. She checked me and I was at 2-3 cm but made no progress after 2 hours so they sent me home. Is there anything I can do to increase the strength of my contractions or help me dilate?

There are a few things, but you still have plenty of time and your body will probably start on it's own when it's ready. Is there a reason you want the baby out now?

I agree with Clysta...best to wait until the baby is ready to come out on his/her own unless you have a very good reason for needing him/her out now...37wks is full-term, so you want to avoid delivering before then if at all possible.

i agree with the others. i understand wanting to give birth now, but your baby is not full term yet. I would hold off another week and a half if the baby doesnt come on its own beforehand.
