Yea you definitely need to let your OB know. They need to know ANY kind of medicine your on. I'm guessing your probably on the methadone program and after you talk to your OB you can tell them that you are pregnant and you doc suggested so and so and they can start lowering your doses slowly so you won't get withdrawl symptoms. like Ashelen said never ever quite any kind of medication without talking to your OB, especially with something like methadone, the withdrawl symptoms from it and the stress it causes can harm the baby. Goodluck and congrats!

you may not want to hear this but the ONLY safe thing to do is talk to your OB about it....do not, I repeat DO NOT stop taking it on your own it is dangerous for the baby. are you prescribed it? if you are there should be no problem and if it is NOT a script you still need to be honest for the baby's sake...your OB won't get you in trouble and can help you manage the medication or help you quit safely AND monitor the baby as the pregnancy progresses. congrats on your pregnancy and good luck!
