Cramping.....???

So this may be a silly question, but for the last 24 hours I have been having slight to mild cramping. It feels like I'm getting my period, but considering I'm nearly 34 weeks it's certainly not that.

I don't know if it's just my uterus stretching, or if these are braxton hicks.

From what I've read most women are saying that braxton hicks feels like a period cramp. However my mom, and sisters say that you can feel the whole uterus tighten and then relax. They all agreed that braxton hicks hurt as much as actuall labor. My uterus isn't tightening, but it was sore to the touch this morning. Now it just feels extremely heavy, and hard.

There has been no discharge of any kind other than the normal CM. No funny colors, no stringy mucus, no gush of liquids, just cramping. Any input is greatly appriciated!

I cramped yesterday for about a solid hour then it went away, and then it started again about 8pm last night so I went and got in a warm bath and it went away within a few minutes of being in the tub. This morning so far there has been no cramping. I've been awake less than an two hours and I've downed 20oz of water so far. I drink 4 16oz bottles a day, plus OJ like crazy, and lately tons of milk.

I wasn't sure if it started because I have been pushing myself to do more things each day and not getting much sleep or if it was normal.  They started while I was sitting in the babies room taping off the baseboards and door frames so DH could paint. I only did as high up as I could reach as there is no way I could in a chair.

If they start up again today I'm going to call the doc. My next appointment is the 10th.

BH contractions can be either painful or completely painless - I did not feel any pain at all with my BH contractions.  As Chantal mentioned, when you have a BH contraction you will feel part (or all) or your belly tighten for a period of time.

Has this cramping been  happening or a regular basis?  e.g. several times an hour or is it  more of a constant crampiness?  Have you been drinking enough fluids?

Its very hard to say what is going on with you but it wont hurt to give your doctor a call for their recommendations.  Thats why we pay them the big bucks, right?

Whenever I got BH my whole belly would tighten and most times they would take my breath away. They didn't actually "hurt" just a little uncomfortable and tight for minute. It could very well be your uterus stretching too. The baby is getting bigger and if your baby is head down already, s/he could be putting pressure on a certain areas causing that pain you are feeling. When I was getting closer to my due date my belly felt so heavy and my lower belly and groin area would hurt ALL the time. I waddled like a duck toward the end. lol.  You are getting closer to delivering, so things are probably preparing as well. But if you are concerned it's something else, it doesn't hurt to contact your doc and see what they say. But if you are not having any discharge or really bad cramping with bleeding, I think you are okay. =) Hang in there!!
