What are SIDS an what causes for babies to have SIDS?

Breastfeeding can help reduce the risk of SIDS but they don't know what causes it or how to prevent it. The theories have mostly already been listed here: overheating, bumpers/pillows/stuffed animals in the crib, apnea, and any position besides flat on the back are linked to SIDS. Cigarette smoke (even "third hand" smoke) can increase the risk. Co sleeping (although not necessarily bed sharing) can help reduce the risk.

My aunties first bourn (kayla ) died of sids on my aunties 18th birthday kayla was 3 months old. Sids is sudden infant death syndrome. It is diagnosed buy a coroner when there is no medical reason for the baby to have died ( ie. baby didn't suffocate because of loose bedding, there was no signs of heart attack extra ) there is huge correlation between a parent or carer smoking and babies passing of sids.

I don't think it happens a lot. Things they think can help cause it is overheating and things like bumper pads abd lose blankets that can suffocate babies etc. I would ask your ob and pediatrician for more info. Things that help prevent are breastfeeding and pacifiers the thought on this is baby isn't falling into such a deep sleep.

Does it happen often m yeah I pray every timr for my baby. And every baby out there. It's very sad I worry alot about my baby that's in my tumny ;/

Sids is sudden infant death syndrome it can happen the first year of baby's life and they don't know what causes it they just have assumptions but not sure
