Anyone else have issues with specialists? Or did I luck out :-P .
I have no experience with a specialist while pregnant, but for the most part had a fairly simple pregnancy. I'm very sorry that they treated you like that, it's awful that they would act that way. Are there any other specialists in your area that you can see?
With my first pregnancy I was sent to a perinatologist near the end after a questionable u/s. They got me in that afternoon, about 2 hours later. I'm sure that's not the norm, and it was likely because my ob called them and got me in. I've noticed that it can make a big difference whether we call as patients to get an appointment, or our Dr.s call and stress the importance of a timely appointment. I hope your OB calls and gives them hell and gets you in sooner. Good luck!
My ob, hematologist, and my case nurse from the hemophilia center have all called the specialist about this. It's getting frustrating.
I'm in a pretty rural area so the only specialists are all at least 1+ hour away. Plus this was one that took my insurance.
I have that problem too, and the closest one is across state lines and they have issues taking my insurance.
Usually they are pretty good at getting people seen if they are going through your Dr. I'm surprised they aren't. I understand there being a wait when you are in a rural area, less Dr.s and more patient's, but it should be a triage circumstance and there should be leeway for urgent cases.
