Someone suggested using a electronic cigarette. I most certainly do not recommend that. I want to say there is more nicotine in an e cgis but not certain. Just try to wien yourself off. When my mother in law attemoed to stop smoking I always saw her with an unlit cigarette in her mouth that she would puff on. It seemed to work for her. I'm sure it's still not good for you but better than actually inhaling the smoke. Hope this help, good luck. You can do it!!

Zim90, your comment was not needed.. This site it to support fellow pregnant women, not judge. Good for you for quitting, but you don't know her or her story so you have no place to judge. Try being a little more supportive next time instead of being so harsh when offering advice.

I haven't smoked since I found out I was pregnant and I was a heavy smoker beforehand, I think about smoking every single day and constantly want one but I have never had not even 1 cigarette so I don't believe anybody who says its too hard, you just gotta decide what's more important; satisfying a craving or your babys health, it should be a no brainer.

I quit as soon as I found out... had a few pulls off one here and there for two days think I was still in denial but the guilt of it made it easier to stop.
Still craving badly... try drinking cold water until the craving subsides... i never drank water and ive drank over five ltrs the last few days x

She's here for support not so people can make her feel bad. It might get harder. It takes 3 days for the nicotine to leave your system and 3 weeks to create the new habit of not smoking. To me that was the hardest part. What do you do when you would normally smoke lol! That's what they told my hubby in his quit smoking class that the military gives.

The first two weeks will suck but you can do it. I did with my first I haven't smoked in six years now and I feel amazing. After the first month you won't even like the smell it gets gross. I can't stand smoke now it makes me sick even before I got pregnant again. Just remember its for your baby but its also for you.

They say to quit gradually. Going cold turkey isn't good. It took me 9weeks to quit. It takes a few weeks for it to get out of your system but its hard. I was a pack a day girl. Yes it will be hard tomorrow may be worse but be strong. I quit in November and I still crave one almost everyday.

Stopped smoking just before I got pregnant, I know it can be hard, the less ciggarettes you have the easier it will get over time, every time you smoke just think about the harm it is doing to your baby and it should help give you the will power you need to quit :)
