It's not just that, mainly the risk for disease transmission is high, who wants to risk acquiring and passing a blood-borne disease, infection risks increases because the body is weaker, which is why we can get sick quite often in pregnancy.
People get infections or fevers from the procedures even when they follow protocol, because their body is fighting a foreign substance/ damage to the body which in turn stresses the body.
Same thing with a piercing done at a professional, clean place, can make you sick, that's just a tiny chunk taken out.
Imagine for a tattoo, the artist themselves didn't use a sterile needle on you or didn't clean their tools properly.
In my younger days doing permanent makeup, some of my colleagues didn't clean tools properly.... I don't know if any cases came out it.
It's even the same with some dentists, they don't properly sterilize their equipment as well... I would chastise my coworker for doing a BS and not cleaning told right. Yeah, I worked in a few industries...
There are many shady people out there that want that quick buck and not care about complying with OSHA, etc.
So risks for body altering while pregnant is what causes the avoidance of doing such procedures
No reputable artist will do a tattoo on a pregnant woman. Your doctor will also likely tell you it's not a good idea. Obviously no one can stop you from getting one, if you can find someone willing to do it that is.
Actually tattoos aren't forbidden during pregnancy. Depends on your pain tolerance and location though. The stimulating pain can cause your heart rate to increase, which obviously increases your baby's HR, which also leads to high blood pressure if you're nervous, have trouble with the pain, etc. But it's also hard to find a artist to tattoo a pregnant woman. But obviously you wouldn't want to go out and do it just because the risk it poses on the baby. Especially since you're breaking skin and your body needs to clot and heal, that's a lot when your body is already growing another human inside of you. Just thought you'd like to have reason why and everything just because everyone will just say no and nothing else.
Thanks I Thought Soo Well I Gotta Long Wait
No it's not safe during pregnancy.
