Thanks well hopefully if all goes well I'll be here Monday to update everyone..
be sure to keep me updated on how that goes....I'll be thinking of you!
here lately we've had tons of natural disasters it's been about every other week something.....since February we've had 1 snow storm two Ice storms 2 major thunder storms with tornados and now a flood and the crazy thing is we are usually lucky if we ever get 1" of snow in a whole winter....and never more than 3" of rain in 24 hours this time I think we've got over 15" of rain in 24 hours... We're hoping that we will be ok when they let the flood gates open but we don't know since they are letting them go in 4 different area's just praying and hoping.....the river has came back up about 2 foot since this morning....they let the flood gates out at the local lake
Phew....I bet you're SOO relieved....I can't imagine having those scares...I live in Upstate NY (near Canada) and we have so few natural diasaster.....A BAD ice storm 10 years ago (houses without power for weeks, a few people died in their homes)....but other than that nothing since.....I think I'll stay put! LOL
And the water level is going down......SO even when they open the flood gates should you be OK being the level went down so much????
OMG My DH just told me the water is down 6" this morning I'm so excited.
I'm hoping they do help if not I'm sure our community will pull together and help each other out.....I don't know how we were so lucky the first leeve that broke actually joined our property and not long after that the river started having leeves break we live maybe a mile if that from the river....the only thing I can explain for our place not being wiped out was my sincere prayers I mena the neighbor right next to us weren't so lucky.....All I can do is thank God we lost some stuff. Lost one of our babies beds but that stuff can be replaced and so can our fence and all the stuff in our barns....people can't be the death toll last I heard was 17
FEMA? HAHAHAHAHAHA Sorry...I was in Mississippi after Katrina. Fema is a big fat joke. I just hope they do better with THIS flooding than they did with the hurricane. I understand completely how you feel. We were EXTREMELY blessed since we lived less than 2 miles from the ocean on a military base. We had evacuated...my husband got called back to base the 2nd day after and I wasn't allowed back. It was over a week before they even let him get to our house. When he called and told me that the ONLY things we lost were a bird feeder and our walkway lights I was sitting in my truck in the walmart parking lot and I busted out in tears becuase I was so thankful. Many of our neighbors weren't so lucky. Even his truck that was sitting under the carport only had dirt on it. We drove around the streets there and it was THE worst disaster I'd ever seen. You watch it on TV but it just doesn't seem real when you do. Seeing it with your own eyes is just completely dumbfounding.
Good luck with FEMA!!
