Honestly in the UK we have to have a full bladder before every single scan. Everywhere is different, some use different ultrasound equipment
They ddnt tell me antyhing like that. I alsp find out the gender in a week but they ddnt tell me i had to drink that much.
They don't tell me to drink anything...I have my 20 weeks done this month when the baby was smaller they told me not to pee.
I think every sonographer is different as for my 1st scan at 12wks they wanted me to empty my bladder and then ay 20wk gender scan they said they like my bladder not empty but not full which was perfect coz i purposely didnt want to be in pain and fear or weeing myself during the scan. Just go in with it half full and a bottle of water so if they moan u can top up x
My ultrasound tech told me its not that hard to find the sex of the baby and that they hate it when people drink juice or coffee before going in because then the baby is all jacked up and won't sit still so they can't do their measurements. So the stories you hear about people going to find out the sex and then being sent home because their baby was backwards and wouldn't move are very rare. Just don't **** off your ultrasound tech or they may ask you what you drank and send you home because you drank it. She said it irritates them bigtime because people are so uneducated about
oy! i have a VERY tiny bladder! lol.
they told me 8 oz. of water an hour before. i did that for my first and i was in so much pain they said i could pee a little before the ultrasound...i did that three times. then when i finally got to the appointment the tech told me not to listen to the recommended amount but to just have a full bladder/need to pee. cause he said i had a small bladder and let me go as soon as he could allow it. then told HE told ME that i must have had a long one!
so if you ask me, it all depends on your body and how well you know it. if a cup of juice will make you pee then go with that.
best of luck and i hope you get a beautiful view of baby.
