large baby

hi mom's to be, I just had a doctor's appointment yesterday and took a glucose test (I'm 27 weeks) and while waiting to get my blood drawn my doctor measured my tummy and felt the baby with her hands. she told me that my baby feels larger than she should be and recommended I get an ultrasound asap to get measurements of my baby girl. what does this mean? why is she larger? what could it be? sorry, I'm a very nervous first time mommy to be, any advice would be great! thanks!

Sometimes they r bigger than they should be as far as weeks in then towards the end they taper off to the right amount of weeks. Try not to stress to much till ur doc gets back to u. Iknow it's hard.

I'm 37 weeks and my doctor is saying that I'll have to probably be induced before 39 weeks, I hope so because my baby is big! He's been a big boy for a while. I'd rather know he's healthy rather than being to small I guess. You have to remember the fluid in your tummy too!

I wouldn't worry about it unless it was your midwife or Doctor.  Even then, having a baby be larger than usual is probably not a bad thing. It just means the baby is growing! If you're concerned though, talk to your doctor/midwife.  :)
