I normally drink alot of water anyways b/c I crave water. Like those big taco bell cups, I usuallly drink like 6 of those a day. I have drank 2 so far, but the cramps in my back let up and then come back. I want to lay down, but I am at work. I am going to give it through the day , if its still doing this tonight, i'll call my ob who ever is on call and see what they say.
I had the same problem, and I still do sometimes. It turns out, even though I thought I was drinking enough fluids, I actualyl wasn't, which can cause contractions. I went to the doctors, and go figure, they were contractions. Now when I feel them coming on I drink some water, and they slowly go away. However, when they start to hurt rather than just annoy you, I would talk to your doctor, because you never really know. That's why we've got doctors right? lol Also sit down and put your feet up for a few minutes. With the amount of change our badies have to go through, it's no wonder we get aches and pains, and those damn muscles and ligaments that continue to stretch and pull sure as hell don't help the situation. lol
Same thing here I had cramping at 17 weeks went to the ob thinking it was nothing and it was contractions. Better to be safe than sorry, if it doesn't let up I would call the ob and tell them. Good luck!
Same thing happened to me, I was dehydrated and I started having back pain (lower back) and cramping, turns out I was having contractions. Dehydration is one of the main causes of early contractions and preterm labor so make sure you're drinking tons! If the cramping stopped after you drank water, that's probably what it was, just make sure if it continues you call your doctor, because that can turn into a problem! Oh! And they told me at L&D when this happened to me, to drink a TON of water when you start cramping, and lay completely still on your left side, don't move at all, this should stop them! :] Good luck :]
Thanks, I've downed like 3 big cups of water, and its not bothering me as bad. I still feel it. If it gets worse later, then I will call the Doctor. but hopefully it'll just go away eventually.
There can be a cramp like feeling in the abdominal area due to muscles and ligiments stretching and pulling. The newly growing pressures and pulling will put a strain on your lower back. There is a difference between pains, and cramping. If you think you have the normal pulling pain then it's okay. If you think it's more powerful than that and it's a oh-cr*p pain then call the doctor. At 22 weeks I had the same pains and after 2 days the pain didn't stop and it was getting worse. Pretty soon some crontractions started. I went to L&D and I was having contractions, but it all started because my uterus was doing the normal pulling and stretching then my little one started bouncing and hitting the uterus putting more stress on it which made it contract.
It never hurts to call the doc, and ask questions.
