I have been exclusively BFing my 9 month old since birth, aside from 4oz. of formula per day right before bed and his solids and a bit of water, of course. I did have a "blip" in that, though, at the end of September when I didn't feed him for a day and half (I pumped 3-4 times during that time, though) because I was trying to wean him. (Long story, but he's on the small side the doctor had recommended I wean....but after speaking to a couple of La Leche League leaders and based on my own observations of my son being happy, healthy and active AND based on the fact that my son was resisting weaning tooth and nail, I didn't end up following through with the weaning and went back to feeding him, 3 times per day, after that day and a half break).
I haven't had my period start up yet but, in the last week, I've been feeling crampy (like menstrual crampy) off and on.....but still no sign of AF. Should I be concerned? I was thinking that the "blip" in feeding might have been a signal to my body to start back up with AF again.....but nothing - yet. Maybe the cramping was ovulation? I don't know....
I'm also on Micronor (mini pill) and have been since 6 weeks PP, but haven't had any side affects from taking that.
Any experiences? Last time, I didn't get a period until I was completely done BFing, not even while I was gradually weaning my first son. And my first AF came, like clockwork, within a month after stopping....and wasn't any different than normal.
