Braxton Hicks? 16 weeks?

When did you start having bh? This is my first baby, and i am 16 +4days. I feel like a weird pressure/idk even know how to describe it. It comes and goes. Started last night after I had finished cooking and eating my xmas dinner. It happened once and lasted for a little while maybe 1-2 mins. and then today after my dr. apt I feel them again. Same kind of feeling. and only lasted 1-2 mins. I forgot to ask my dr. about it, but I did ask him about the pressure i have when i bend over to put on socks/shoes. He said that was normal. So I am not concerned, just more or less want to know if that is what it is, bh. Thanks!

I havent had any more for a couple hours but if it happens again and more frequently i will def. Head ti the dr. I have been drinking.more water since i got back fron the dr tho. I am on my fourth glass... So already got maybe 40+ oz in. So i am well hydrated today. Thanks again for the advice

Like gobrandiranger said, they are most likely really strong bc of dehydration. I had the same issue early on, and my ob said drink more water! :)

Thanks everyone! Yea I think i am bit dehydrated because yesterday I was busy cleaning, skyping with my family, cooking dinner, I dont think I drank much other than two glasses of water and a bottle of rootbeer. Which is way less than normal.. (80 oz or more) but I am going to try staying more hydrated. They are def not painful, they just kind of feel funny. No pain whats so ever. and last night it only happened once, and today  it only happened once. but If they do start happening more often. I will def call my dr.

You actually have braxton hicks contractions the entire pregnancy. You just dont realize it till baby is bigger and creating pressure

I started having braxton hicks around 18 weeks with my first and 14 weeks with this one. I increased my water intake a LOT because I was dehydrated due to nausea and vomiting. Bh can be caused by dehydration. Since I started drinking more water, they went away. I'm 21+5 today and haven't had any in a few weeks.

For me, the first time, it just felt like a heavy lead ball had.collected in my uterus the size of a bowling ball. No pain, just heavy pressure. This time, they were very mild contractions because my body knows what muscles to flex.

If they become painful to the point you can't speak and changing positions doesn't help, then they're the real thing, which needs medical attention asap.

Good luck!

I just started to get mine and im 30 weeks.. but you can get them when ever really.. some people get them as early as 4 months.. so it could be bh.. as long as they are not 5-10 min apart or anything like that.. if they become worse i would call your doctor
