anyone with medi-cal?

my husband and i found out we were pregnant with our first baby last wednesday. we're 7weeks today, but we don't have health insurance anymore. my husband just got out of the Army and we found out 4weeks later that i was pregnant. now, we're trying to get medi-cal so we can set up a doctor's appointment and get my first check up going, but the medi-cal office said it could take up to 90 days before i can see a doctor. i'm starting to get stressed out because we don't have medical insurance anymore and i really want to know if my baby's okay and how everything's progressing. if anyone with medi-cal has any advice with any alternatives where i can see a doctor (i.e. public clinics) that would be great. i just want to verify that everything is going smoothly.

They give u emergency medical in cali. When ur pregnant for about a month while u apply and wait for it to go thru. When it does it will cover everything pregnancy related. U just need to contact the welfare office in ur area with a proof of pregnancy. Im in s. Cali...look for metropolitan clinic they give uemergency medical there before u go to the county building.

i have to print out a confirmation that i'm no longer enrolled with them, and then fax it to the medi-cal office and see where it goes from there

Will they send you a letter saying you're no longer enrolled in their insurance program?

i live in california, we're in san diego. when i went to planned parenthood all they gave me was a estimated due date. i made an appointment to see how far along i was and all that jazz, but that's all they did for me. and with medi-cal, i had my interview today but they keept saying that i'm still under military insurance, and i called to confirm with the military that i'm not under them anymore. so i have absolutely no idea what's going on anymore

I do. But if you're pregnant they try to push it threw quicker.
Seeing a doctor is kinda a joke. Every obgyn will need a referral from a primary.
But planned parenthood accepts medi-cal and you don't need a referral. And most of them have ultrasound machines.
You might want to try to call there and make an appointment explaining everything.
I had to go there a couple days to get a proof of pregnancy letter because my ob wanted me to wait another month for one.

Well some public clinics have temporary medical. And medical shouldn't take that long to be received but I'm in California it might be different for where you are. And usually medical will pay 3 months back of medical bills.
