Another Braxton hicks question

I'm 36+1 and it seem like with everyday closer I get to my due date they get stronger and stronger. And laying down or sitting down makes them worse. Do the strong ones mean that I'm dilating? The nurse told me I was about a fingertip last time I got checked and I have another appt with my doc tomorrow

It ciuld be real contractions, and they will help dialate you, but nit necissarily very fast.  Mine have been the same way, getting stronger, harder, and lasting longer.  Its normal at this stage.
