castor oil

So im 37 weeks & 2 days and im miserable. Last Tuesday i got checked & I was 70% thinned out. I'm trying to decide if I want to try castor oil or not. My mom said it worked for her with all 3 of her children. But I'm not sure yet so I would like to hear some of your stories.

I took it 2 different times during my first pregnancy. I took it at 37 weeks mixed with o.j. it gave me such a painful stomach ache that I was in tears and had to go to the hospital. Nothing happened with my labor. I somehow worked up the courage to try it again the next week mixed with applesauce and it again gave me a little upset tummy but no labor. I would never do it again and would not recommend it!

Wow my midwife said she would never suggest it! But to each their own I hope it works for you!

I think that if you want to try it you should wait until 38+ weeks. :)

I actually asked my midwife about this. She told me I could try it at 39 weeks and that she would even give me a recipe. She said she heard it works but only if you're ready. Keep us updated if you do try it.  I've actually thought about it too.

I did castor oil mixed with oj. 6ish hours later I was in labor.

My moms a nurse and she always says not to do it is actual bad for the babies digestive system

I tried it Friday!!! Wow did it bring strong contractions.. I'm wasn't thinned at all so I only dialated 1cm through the contractions but good thing I didn't poop not once... Since your already 70% I would try it.... Good luck. I didn't listen to all the negative advice given... At the end I was 3cm.
