Dilation?

I'm 30 weeks 6 days and have been having the worst pressure down in my vagina. And now in my lower back. Could that be a sign of dilation or her just in position now.  I've called my doctor but haven't said to see me or what not so now I'm taking it upon myself to see what it may be. Any help?

Your baby is growing and gaining weight consistantly, preparing for it's due date. As this time is approaching, baby can settle in lower into your uterus, and may not have as much room to move and shift around. This can cause a lot pressure sensations. You have notified your doctor of the pressure and I would expect if they had concerns, they would bring you in. I would watch for signs of spotting (bloody show before labor), or leaking of fluids suggesting your water is breaking. Also, monitor for signs of contractions and alert your doctor to those too. Constipation can worsen the feeling of pressure too. If your symptoms of pressure and lower back pain continue to worsen, you should call your doctor again. Try to rest and drink some water and see if that helps. You should also be able to take some tylenol to help the back pain.
Hope this helps.
