Severe lower abdominal pain accompanied by the urge to pass stool..help!!!

I need help here please as i am not quite getting any answers from my doc. I am 5 or 6 weeks pregnant. Currently besides boobs being sore I have this strange thing ahppenin g to me. Generally midnight I wake up with extreme lower abdominal pain which is unbearable and then i have this urge to pass stool. All the while sitting on the pot I have this severe pain and once i pass my stool the pain vanishes. This happenes at least 2 to 3 times midnight. The pain is not centerde to any one point its all over but its really bad..This pain is like menstrual cramps..but extereme. Can somone please help as its been 6 days now that i ave not slept properly because of this and I am worried too as to why this is happening to me. I told my doc and she said that the uetrus is growing thus....but the urge to pass stool and the severe pain dissapearing after that????/ Help please...

wow thx..made me feel so much less worried now..no I dont have constipation or diarrhea Losingmy mind...well thx a ton for your responses..now I will take the pain normally :)

I had these exact same pains a few nights ago...it was so uncomfortable but when I tried going to the bathroom I was constipated. So the pain went on for a few hours!!  It was horrible and I was freaking out also because I had no idea what was going on...eventually the pain went away though and it hasn't happened since so I can only imagine how horrible it feels to have it every night. Does anyone know if this has something to do with the kind of food eaten before hand or if it just the fact that everything is cramped inside?

I have the exact same thing and it started when I was preg with my last baby. I now for some reason get these extreme pains also when I need to BM. I never had this before in my life and its constant now - I cannot have to BM and not get these cramps - worse than menstrual cramps too i my lower abdomen. When the pains come- its time to get to the toilet and now!  The when I pass everything - its fine. My doc also told met that my body is changing and hence less room for it all in me and so the pain happens. I would not worry about it though - I was at first and for nothing. Hoep this helps.

It sounds more like something intestinal....are you having diarrhea or constipation or are your bowel movements normal?  You could have an intestinal virus, especially if you are having diarrhea.
