big head!

I had an ultrasound today at 36weeks 2days. Everything on my baby was measuring right around the right time, only off by a day or two if anything. Except for her head. Her head measured 40weeks 6days!! It's almost exactly 10 cm across! The doctor freaked me out and said "yikes, you'll really feel that! Hope she doesn't get stuck!" Was he joking? I'm so freaked out, everything has gone so smoothly so far, I thought for sure I'd be able to do this naturally. Now I'm scared I'll need a c section. I've never had any sort of surgery, not even stitches. I have to lay down when they take blood because I've passed out. I can't handle a major surgery! Has anyone had a natural birth with a big baby? My SO was almost 10 and a half pounds :s

My baby's head measured a month ahead and my boyfriend asked the doctor if that meant I'd get a c-section. The doctor said that he wouldn't be surprised :’( so I know exactly how you feel. I cried like a baby after that appointment! I'm a FTM and I'm 36 weeks right now so I wish I could give advice lol. I just know that doctors aren't always right. They don't even know the exact weight, height, or even birthday until they're born! You just gotta relax and not worry about anything :-) nothing is set in stone yet. I know that whatever happens, it'll be all worth it! We'll finally be able hold our babies <3 I just thought you'd feel just a tiny bit better if someone else was in the same boat as you lol.

My son has a huge head, he was only 7lbs 1oz at birth but his head is almost 100% on his growth charts and yes, labor hurt but it wasnt as bad as i expected... i only pushed for an hour and he crowned for most of the time, but a positive was that because his head came out so slow, i didnt tear at all and i was all healed up and no longer sore at about 5 days postpartum!
