formula

So today I signed up for wic....wasn't exactly sure what was until today lol....but anyway I see that they give you free formula....winner right? My only thing is they give you similac (sp)..I wAs wondering what are you ladies thoughts about this formula? I plan on breastfeeding too....no bottles until after I go back to work...which still at that time I'll be breastfeeding too........any thoughts on similac good orbad would help.....or suggestions.......thanks ladies :)

Our wic offices in tn use gerber good start. We had to use alimentum for six months as my dd had a milk protein intolerance, then we safely switched to soy. All you can do is try a brand or type of formula and see how it works.

I wAs really thinking about using the gerber...my daughter won't be here until October but It's not to far away...I'm just so confused lol

The WIC office in Georgia. Gives Gerber Good Start formula. Have any of you used this?

Different cities have different ones they use. I was forced to use it with my daughter after I was hospitalized and she couldn't handle it - she's lactose intolerant and a lot of them made her sick. You might have to try several different ones, but won't know till baby is born.

Similac was great for my first son when i stopped nursing but my second one was very lactose intolerant and cholicy so i had to use enfamil prosobee. Was a miracle formula. lol

Yeah I thought they had options but the only brand is similac but of course with all the different kinds....thanks ladies

Hm, the wic in my city gives you enfamil for formula

It's good. And its the only formula you can get unless your babies Dr gives you a note and says otherwise! Basically that its medically necessary for them to change the formula!
