White blood cells does mean there is an infection. Doesnt mean its an std tho. Could be a uti or bacterial infection both very common in pregnancy. They should have told you. But blood in urine usually means a bad uti which can also cause severe back pain. I'm not trying to sound.like a know it all but I've had has utis thru all of my pregnancies this is my third.

You most likely have a UTI. Your doctor may be waiting to treat you with antibiotics until the culture comes back. Thr culture takes about 3 days and will tell you what kind of bacteria if growing and how much of it there is. It will also tell the doctor which antibiotic will be most effective. Then the doctor picks one that is safe for you in baby. The sample may also be contaminated so the culture will tell you that too. Drink lots of water and cranberry juice.
