You will be fine!!! Ive had 2. 1st was scary cuz it was an emergency c/s after 13 hours of labor. The 2nd was scheduled and amazing. Went in at 5. Surgery at 7:30 and she was here by 8:30. I got super nauseous and had lots of nausea meds while in surgery but otherthan that I was fine. I had speedy recoveries both times but please remember to take it easy the first couple of weeks, I never treated myself like I had just had major surgery and my dr always got mad at me for "overdoing" it. Congrats!

Its different for everyone. I thought I would be in pain for 6 wks. Nope. I was off almost all pain meds in 8 days. I think I took the Ibuprofen 800 for about a month tho. The first few days are uncomfortable especially sitting down and getting up. That discomfort lasted a good 3-4 weeks but was decreasing each day. They should provide you with this stomach binding thing too. Its this huge white elastic thing that Velcro's around ur belly. That helps a LOT. Im a bigger gal too, so I have a lot if jiggle to hold in, and it helped.

I felt pretty darn good before I even left the hospital :-).
You'll have to ask your doctor if they order an abdominal binder in the post-op orders, as that isn't standard (but would be awesome) in every hospital. (the stretchy thing txmamma is talking about)
I only took pain meds the first day and a couple nights when I had overdone it.  I can't take ibuprofen, so I took tylenol or nothing at home during the day.  Recovery for me was pretty good!  I was back to work in four weeks no restrictions :-)

I'm abt to have my 4th c-section in 8 wks, 5dys..it honestly isn't as bad as a lot of stories say it is hun...yes its surgery, but my recoveries have all been pretty good..it does get easier as I've had my previous experiences to go off of tho...I took the pain meds while in the hospital and only took the ibuprofin when home...getting up n down from sitting, and out or in bed is the most difficult thing at first, but truely not horrible, you just have to be careful and use your upper body strength...and if your lucky enough to get the abdominal binder that helps tons!! I've had them with all of mine and have worn them for the first few weeks......and just a note, somethin.g you will want to pack for ur hospital stay is high fiber snacks, to help with ur first bowel movement...ur intestines slow way down after an abdominal surgery, so it can take awhile and be difficult to pass that first movement..it can be more painful than the actual surgery..eat lots of fiber to help counter act that hun..:-)..i learned the hard way with my first and would've loved for someone to fill me in on that!!! Goodluck hun.

I had a c-section, mine was emergency, but recovery was not bad at all, I was done taking meds before I left the hospital, and was up and walking, if you baby yourself (as hard as it is not to!) it's going to be a long recovery, if you make yourself walk, you'll be fine! I went to the hospital from the store, fully dressed in normal clothes and just fine, and everyone asked when I delivered! Haha, it's not that bad! Good luck hun!

I would get a changing table if you can. If the only place you can change the diaper is on the floor, then it will be difficult to get up. Or change her on your bed.

I have a basket my mom said to change her in. I wish my baby would turn so I could do natural but doesn't look like it

My experience was not the best. My c-section went great it was after that was horrible. The second I was out of the room my epidural fell out and no one noticed! I kept telling the nurse how much pain I was in and she kept changing my gown bc it was sopping wet. The medicine was just running Down my back.. They finally figured it out 24 hrs after surgery and by that time I was in the worst pain of my life! Then I started shaking uncontrolably bc my nurse forgot to check my catheter all night and the bag was completely full! I had to wait for them to remove it and then get up ( on no pain meds) to use the bathroom! The hospital had the nurse come In and apologize before I was released!

Defo movement and walking up straight. I believe times differ but its about 2 hours. I have an overhang belly so heard put a thin pad there to ensure you keep it dry.

Well I've heard the wind is the problem so I'm getting peppermint tea as I hear it helps.

It helps with the trapped wind. an epudural is what's given to numb your lower half so you can stay awake, all tho sometimes it doesn't work and you may need to be knocked out. I hope I have a quick recovery but I know to take it easy as you can end up doing more harm.
