Yeah I'm signing up for k12 program. & my mom talked to the school bored of Hammond to get me into a different district which was the school I went to today to enroll.. Then my mom called the school board & told them this is why their not accepting me & the school board said that the school has that right if its "not in the schools best interest". But the thing is they had to call after we left to tell us this instead they could've told us before filling out any paperwork or anything that the principal would have to talk to some teachers etc to see what's best. My mom bitched the principal out . she told them she was going to make a report on them discriminating against me cuss I'm pregnant then they said well we looked back on her attendance & she was expelled twice & I was NEVER expelled from ANY school . they were just tryna save their *** saying my attendance would be a problem. But I honestly think I'll do better homeschooling it'll be easier for me when my baby gets here I thought abt it so I'm hoping that k12 will except me.
They can't do that just so you know. Its illegal. So maybe you should have your parents go threaten to take them to court.
Try options for youth thats where I go and I love it
Go to continuation school
K12 is homeschooling. They have teachers you can talk to and ask questions and stuff. They also do like field trip things where you can meet other students and the teachers. They also have this site kinda like Facebook where you can socialize with other students.
Tell the principal to kiss ur a** and go to the school board they cannot do that because illegal deny u a education.
that is illegal. you cannot be denied a public education. they can't even force you to go to an alternative school. your choices are to tell them you will go to school there, or receive a.voucher to go to.a different district on their dime if that's the only school you have the option of attending based on location.
online school is convenient (like the k12 program), but they are very strict. they do not accept late assignments or zeros based on input I've received from my students.
honestly, every student from my school that had tried online schooling for various reasons (bullying, special education, pregnancy, etc) have returned the next semester with no or very few credits.
I'm sorry this happened to you! good luck with everything!
Is k12 a home schooling program or just help with schooling? I was thinking about homeschooling my lil girl and thought about k12.
K12 is great. Please don't let the principal get away with that go to the district ! Sew him!
Yeah I would so take that to the news they can't do that. Thats effed up
The k12 program worked really well for me. Its free and they send you everything you need, including a computer. They even reimburse you for the cost of internet.
Hire a lawyer and file discrimination charges. That's not right, not even a little bit.
Unless they have an "alternative" school like one that has ten patenting classes and everything with in an hour from you they can't do that and if they're is another school they have to provide bussing for you and your child. I know because I went through all of it with my son.
Wow what a ****** up school. But Penn Foster it's a great program. You have to pay but it's monthly of 50$ and they send you all the books you need. My ex boyfriend was in the program.
Is that even allowed for him to do that?
Wow I'm sorry that's crazy I'm going to the 10th grade aswell but I have yet to enrolled...
