Im 37+3 and gave been having cramps. What could be causing them?

Yes they suck lol. When I first had them I told my hubby it feels like ima start my period like cramps I asked my dr she said it was contractions and to just time them . I still don't know how to time them lol my hubby does tho haha

There contractions. They feel like period like pains those are contractions I get them to! I'm 38w5d
