child support
A topic nobody likes. I'll try to make my question short n simple. I just want to know how to have my baby's dad on the birth certificate without him being placed on child support. & if I pretend I don't know who my baby father is will they make me find out?? Everybody has a different story with how they avoided having their baby daddies on child support. I have no reason to put him on we're together n he's a great dad to his other son & he will be to ours. I don't want the government trying to mess up anything. So what did some of y'all do or what's y'all story? I'm in Detroit Michigan, & I'm 38 weeks
If you're tryn. To get food stamps etc u can jus tell them u help u they will ask u how much. Behave given u amount time bby been born it will go as some ur income u may get less food stamps etc but he won't. Go on childsupport.if u not tryn get stamps etc then if he sign the certificate its not go into automatically put him on c.s
Oh ok I see!! & yeah because his other son's mom has him on her case still & he does not even live with her. He just said he has to stay on her case in case she tries to put him on child support because she been threatening him ever since she found out I was pregnant. Jealous much? But yeah I see what y'all are saying. I work full time though & definitely don't need the cash assistance. As far as child care we'll cross that bridge later. But it makes since they can't force me to put him on child support. I really want him to be on the birth certificate immediately but waiting makes him feel safe I guess.
He will not have to pay for child support unless you actually file for it. My son dad signed the certificate and they didn't put him on. I was getting wic food and medicaid. of you try to get cash assistance, or child care assistance they will deny you until you file child support. That's it. They can NOT do it themselves. At all. The only thing they can do is deny you certain assistance if you don't do it. But you can get wic food and medicaid regardless.
That's what I thought they would do which we don't receive food stamps or anything yet!! I think we should be able to because of him only working not making a whole lot but enough to get by on the bills and having a baby on the way and a little 3 year old brother
If they make him pay support it will just come right back in the house if you live together. & I believe its only cash & food that they make you go after child support. Me & my husband were not married when we had our first & living together & they didn't go after support they just added him to my case.
I'm in the same boat as you trying to get on medicaid and wic because my boyfriend and I are not married yet but he is gonna be there an help take care of the baby so y should he have to pay child support!!!
They will only go after him for cash. If u r not sure, call and ask, anonimously if u feel the need.
Lol yeah that's not the case I been with him for 6 years n finally pregnant lol but he said that he does want to go on the birth certificate just not right away because they will charge him. I'm only getting Medicaid n wic right now no food benefits or cash assistance. I think it depends on the state
If you live together he will not have to worry about child support...only if you are separated
How could they make u find out? If u had a one night stand (I know this isn't actually the case here) and don't know the guys name.
Well unless your on welfare or something then they shouldnt make him pay child support if hes supporting the baby? But if u are on welfare.or trying to get on it then yes they will take child support from the father(name on birth certificate) and make him pay part of the exspenses that they are giving to you. If you dont have a fathers.name on the birth ceritifcate and say you dont know and dont wanna know i dont think theyll make you find.out. But im not sure.about michiagin
