silly nipple question

So im watching 4 christmases and the pregnant sister says breastfeesing makes the nipples reeeally tough... is that true? Lol id imagine they develop a tolerance to a babys feeding,  but is the toughness permanent? I plan on breastfeeding and the specialist at the wic office thinks im a great candidate for it but I guess im asking if its gonna put some wear and tear on my boobs lol

No it is not permanent. I nursed my daughter 6 years ago for 9 months and mine went back to normal.

Im not quite sure I breastfed for 14 months and have stopped month ago. Mine are still tough and dry and calloused. Now I am pregnant with number two and plan to do it all over again. I am hoping they are still tough for this one.

No your nipple will stay relatively the same you point the nipple upwards in their mouth to create a good latch. The bumps on them are the milk ducts. Breastfeeding if not done right can be painful can make your nipple cracked and bleed but when it's over your body goes back to the way it was.

I know it gives you blisters if you point your nipple up towards the roof of baby's mouth but your nipple won't get calloused or anything lol
