Vent! Baby name + MIL

My stepMIL is so frustrating, me and the bf don't know the sex of our baby but decided if baby is a girl she would be called Zoe Marie, now my S-MIL has decided she wants a dog and if the dog is a girl she is calling it Zoe!! I'm due on the 31st Oct and she's getting the dog on the 26th and has decided that whichever one comes first gets the name Zoe!! Me and the bf have had Zoe picked out since before I was pregnant and she hated the name!! We originally had Ellie for a girl but me S-MIL and FIL got a female dog and named it Ellie knowing we liked the name! So she's ruined the name and will probably ruin this one!! I just don't want my daughter(if baby is a girl) named after a dog.

Zoe Marie is a very pretty name. Im sorry shes acting out. But dont stress, you said it yourself, you dont know what you're having. So baby can turn out to be a boy and you'll have a chance to pick a name and not share it. But say you changed your mind on the name and tell her, maybe shell take the bait. As soon as baby is born name her Zoe Marie if she didn't name her dog that.

Or tell them you decided on a different name for the baby if its a girl and pick a really dumb one you know she will hate. That way she will name the dog the dumb name, and when your baby is born you can use the name you love without her knowing :)

If I were you I would come with a back up name don't tell them of course....and then tell your smil that she can have the name Zoe for her damn dog and then see if really does end up using that name. Granite I think she is being a b I t ch about it and if it was me I would tell her to stop being a bi t ch and it find another name for her fn dogs!!!! But ya know lol I'm sorry they are being like that.

Omg.. What the hell.
Keep the name! No one is going to care about their new dog when a few days later you're having a BABY!  Everyone will wonder why they named their dog after your baby,  if anything. Haha
Tell them you've chosen something better,  and leave them hanging.

What I would do is talk too your bf and pick out a name that you both love and keep it quiet and not tell anyone that way no matter what she'll never find out til the day the baby is born

Pick a different name you love so much as a back up but don't tell anyone the name. If she names the dog your first pick you will have a backup that no one will know about.

If she does name it that, then pick another name and don't tell them. Clearly, they're doing that, because they don't like the name.
