First time mom here, and at 34 weeks. Just wondering how the dialation thing works? Does the doctor check how dialated you are at a certain point in your pregnancy? Or is it just something you know is happening?

You can also request if you are feeling too much pressure

Depending on your doctor some start checking around 36 weeks mine won't until 39 weeks unless you're contracting. You can check yourself actually but you'd have to know what to feel for.

My doctor checked me at 35wks no you can't check yourself and you don't really know unless you can feel stronger pressure!
