Just want to share my frustration.

So my bf and I decided on the name zaiden for our baby boy. We just finally started sharing that with the family. Bf grandmother tells us that my bf cousin is upset about that and doesn't want us to name him that because her 2 yr old son is named xaivier and his nickname is zay. She feels were copying her... Wtf? Am I overreacting for being pissed about this? I dont want anyone calling him zay for short anyways...

I dont want to get between family but I think you should name him whatever you want to name him. What ever makes you happy! And you can make a different nickname anyways. Goodluck with figuring everything out. Dont stress.

I agree. I'm naming my daughter Rileigh (Riley) and everyones making a big fuss that its not a girls name and blah blah blah. I simply said she is my daughter and I'm going to name her what I want to name her I don't care if you like it or not. But then again I don't care what ANYBODY thinks.

We decided on the name when I was 19 wks I'm 33wks nothing anyone says will change our mind that's his name point blank but it bothers me that someone always as to complain and ruin the moment...

I know i think people need to be more supportive... when I was picking out my daughters name there was always one person who had something to say about it... in time they will get over it

Name ur baby what you want no matter what people say.  You are baby's mom not anyone else.  That is one of the rights we have.  We carry baby for 9 months why should anyone complain on what you want to name him?

God I just wanna slap people like that sometimes. No offense to your bfs family but seriously? Sounds a little third grade to me. "you're copying me! Oh no!" People need to quit getting butt hurt over this kinda stuff. Xavier is super common these days anyway. their kid is gonna meet lots of kids with that name and nickname! They should get over ut pretty quick... Sorry lol. I'm fiesty. And Zaiden is cute by the way

No matter what you.will always find someone whose name sounds similar to yours or is the same.as.yours. it sounds like to me they need to get over it ...maybe they are just jealous cause zaiden is a prettier name the Xavier  lol

When I was pregnant with our dd we picked "Melania". We knew my family would give us crap about her name so we didnt tell anyone the name until she was born. They didnt like it. But I signed the birth certificate and they knew they had no say. Its your baby...Name him what you want. If they dont like it then thats to bad. Best of luck to you and baby Zaiden!

My sons name is Xavier and we call him X or Xaxa (zayzay) no way in hell would i get mad if anyone in my family named their anything that had the same nick name when the kids were together u just call them by full name so they dont get confused

We aren't telling the name until our little girl is born. I don't care what people think, it's OUR choice!! I like the name you have chosen. And I would stick to my guns.
