engorged HELP!!

Today out of nowhere i got crazy chills,i was freezing butt my body was hot  to touch and when i pumped less than usual came out ... I pump every 3.5 to 4hours .., any idea what's going on?v later a good 3hours, still lingering ...

If your not breastfeeding directly from the breast, I'd reccommend every 2 hours but I'm sure 3 hours isn't bad either! I just lost my milk supply with mastitis and had to quit breastfeeding

Yes I'm pumping every 3hours for about 10 minutes that's the most i can tolerate does that sound about right

Warm compression, showers and continuous pumping to keep the pain down! The antibiotics are perfectly fine (: much better than letting it go untreated!

Yes they are safe. I had mastitis with my first and breastfed while taking them. Baby was fine after i got done with antibiotics.

Im pumping so i really dont wanna dry my milk up ... Are the antibiotics my dr is going to give me safe to still breastfeed my son or no? I dont wanna risk losing my milk supply

Try getting into shower and let hot water run over them while massaging them. Idk if ur breastfeeding, if u are then dont do this but if Not then put some cold cabbage leaves in ur bra, it will help reduce inflammation and help dry the milk up.

I got mastitis too And its very painful. A lactation consultant told me to use warm compresses and to try pumping in another position. Like lean forward and pump. She said it might help to change the position your breast can be helpful. Good luck! I hope you feel better soon!

Yup mastitis any suggestions what to do ... Dr cant prescribe me anything until im seen in the office... My appt is at 230 tomorrow!

I got mastitis and I was only producing like 1oz instead of 4-5. Definitely talk to your doctor asap
