Well my daughter is 9 months old , so I've started planning hers. I'm making her a smash cake. I'm just going to have it in my back yard. It's in april, so it'll be nice out. They have such short attention spans, so we're not doing much. Smashcake, pictures, presents and that's about it. I'll be saving money for a bday she'll actually remember.
I had my sons at home for his birthday. His second birthday is coming up and I am getting a meeting room at a local recreation center because we moved and won't have room for everyone. But if you can, I'd do his first bday at home. They're so young at a year old that they won't really be able to do like a fun bounce house or anything like that.
I'm the same way. I always start planning my sons bday months before. For my first when he was a year old we just did a small party at home and invited family and friends. It wasn't until his 2 birthday when I started getting like a bounce house and stuff. But he's 6 now his bday parties keep getting better and better. Last year we had a Halloween party like usual but my bf and I made this awesome elaborate haunted house in our garage it was awesome.
