heres an article that may help you understand!
I am anemic and have been since I was 12 when they check your hemoglobin it is what they use to determine your iron level.
hemoglobin ( /hiːməˈɡloʊbɪn/; also spelled haemoglobin and abbreviated Hb or Hgb) is the iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells of all vertebrates[1]. It doesnt have anything to do with the volume of your blood in body
A cbc is what they push to use when testing the volume of red and white cells. as well as lymphocytes and hemaglobin.
Hematocrit is one of the exact test used to test volume in red blood cells!!!!!
Hemaglobein is ur blood count! Not iron! If ur blood is low it could mess with the baby. Glad everything went well!
Just an update I had scan today and babys growth fine :-)
Thanku for that will definatly keep u updated as I have a growth scan tommorrow :-)
Please keep me updated as im curious since ive always been anemic and have never heard of it effecting babies growth.
Hemaglobin is basicly your iron it shouldnt effect growth though because its all abot how fast oxygen is being sent through ur body. My iron level was 10 and now 9.6 so I am to take an extra supplement on top of my prenatal plus tablet also when u actually go into labor it can make you lose more blood. Id say take an extra iron supplement take it will oj as well as oj with ur prenatal so ut body has a better chancw of absorption.
