You can loose your mucus plug any time during pregnancy but the likelihood of it growing back after 37 weeks is unlikely. Loosing your mucus plug is a great indication that labor is on its way for early labor or true labor (lasting 6-72 hours).

It was a week after I lost mine with my first that I went into labor, some women it's even longer, some it's same day. It's not a great indicator, just that sometime relatively soon you'll be in labor.

With my son, I lost my mucus plug and hours later went into labor !  With this current pregnancy I lost my mucus plug Sunday night and still no baby ! I'm currently 38weeks & 2days so it just differs from woman to woman & pregnancy to pregnancy !

If you don't go into labor shortly after losing your mucus plug, your body will make another one. So some women lose it sevral times, its totally normal. Losing your mucus plug is not a definite sign of coming labor. But of course at one time, you will lose your mucus plug then go into labor.
