no health insurance

I'm in a tricky situation. Both me and my husband work full time. And he is military but his benefits don't kick in until October. I am 6 weeks pregnant and do not have insurance. I have no idea what doctor would take a patient with no insurance. We are ineligible for medical help through the state due to our incomes and we don't have insurance through work because it would be pointless to keep through October and then have to cancel it. Of course I won't wait til October to be seen, but what are my options??

Yeah tri care can be a pain. Can you go to a womens center in the mean time or health department. Most drs do not see you for the furst time untill you are 12 weeks. If you are 6 now in 7 weeks your insurance will be effective . Will you be going on base to a military dr or off base to a civilian dr? If civilian call around see accepts tri care and explain the situation see if they will put you on the schedule for when your insurance is effective. I do not see why they wouldn't. That way you do not have to wait long for your first appointment.  Also ask if you need a referral to see an ob. If so it can take two to three weeks for tricare to process that from a primary care dr. If thats so call do the same process but with general physician about having them schedule your new patient appointment for when insurance kicks in and get that referral the first appointment.

You can try an income based clinic but I'm not sure how long they will treat you for. You might just end up having to pay for every visit out of pocket and pay at the time of service until October.
