Kinda TMI

I've heard plenty of horror stories about having a BM while pushing during labor. What are ways to prevent this?

It was common to give enemas before delivery but that can dehydrate mom so dont even worry about it I did during delivery I know I did even though they didnt say anything but I got over it as soon as another urge to push came on. Ur using those sames muscles and as baby comes out they squeeze ur bowels like a tube of toothpaste lol no preventing that.

I pooped during labor and it wasnt horrible and I couldve cared less because your pushing a little human out theres not much that I know of that you can do to stop it. Its very normal for women to do it and most dont know that hey did because no one makes a big deal about it in the room.

There's honestly no way of really preventing it from happening! But don't worry so much about it your dr and nurses won't say anything to you about it.. And neither should your family/man. No one will really be worried about that cause of trying to help you through the pushing! My sister was super scared about that her son ended up being the one that pooped right when he was coming out lol
