Induction?

Hi ladies, so I'm 40 weeks 1 day today, and just got back from my dr app. They did another membrane sweep for me to see if that'd maybe do something, but nothing yet. But I decided to ask to schedule an induction! So if I don't go naturally this weekend they're going to induce me Monday morning! I was just wondering if any other moms who have been induced before coukd share their stories with me to help calm my nerves?! I've heard lots of different things and feel like hearing stories would make me feel better! Thank you :)

Aww! What a beautiful story!
And I know what an induction is, I just wanted to hear some of your personal stories with it. :)

(Sorry, might be really long) My induction started off they had me change into gown, and hooked me up to monitors and IV. Then an hour later they put a gel in my cervix to help start dialation (i started out at 2cm & 60% effaced). I felt the contractions within 5 mins, who knew a simple gel would do all that lol. I started to get back labor so I decided to walk around about 3 or 4am and that really helped. But I needed to sleep, so I got Nubain, an IV pain med(which made me really woozy and sleepy). That really helped take the edge off. By 4am, I was 4cm and 70% effaced and so they started on the pitocin thru IV. At 7:30am, my OB came in said I was 5cm and 90% effaced and then broke my water. I have to admit the water breaking is really warm and strang feeling, like you're peeing uncontrollably lol but it does NOT hurt when they break it, it just pinches. After that, I dialated pretty damn fast. By about 8 or 9am I went ahead andgot the epidural after I took a walk and used birthing ball, which helped the back labor but the contractions were too much for me. Im one whose normally terrified of needles, but in that moment I just wanted that thing in me! Lol by 10:30am I was 9cm. Then at 12pm I was 10cm and ready to push. Starting at around 2 or 3pm I pushed for 3hours, then my OB decided to try the vacuum. It was either that or csection. Sadly, I was numb everywhere BESIDES my pelvic area and ribs from pushing so much. It didn't really hurt, it was just really sore and uncomfortable feeling. Thankfully, my baby girl came out vaginally with vac, with her head turned sideways (explains why it took so long pushing). She weighed 7lbs 14oz, 21in long. During the whole process you begin not to care who sees what or anything, you just want it over lol. Im one really self conscious and my mom & sister were looking down there while I was pushing and I didn't give a d*mn! Lol needless to say, leave your pride at the door. And every little bit of it is COMPLETELY worth it AS SOON AS you see your LO. You completely forget about it all and it's really great the feeling you get knowing you actually birthed a human. Gives you a sense of pride :) goodluck, mama! Its not that bad. I'd do it all over again, truly an amazing experience allover for me!<3
