castor oil

Took a spoon and half full , of castor oil.1cm 38weeks , 5days . Does it work

I Took Castor Oil W.My Son Four Yrs Ago TWICE During Pregnancy Once At 37 Weeks &Then Again At 40 Weeks &Both Times I Took It I Didnt Get Dehydrated Nauseous Throw Up Or Diarrhea ...Everybody Reacts Diffently To It My Reaction Was A Success Bc My Water Broke Still Ended Up Having To B Induced W.Pitocin Bc It Didnt Even Cause Me To Have Contractions Which Really Sucked Bt It Got The Ball Rolling ..Good Luck Mama Hope Everything Goes Well .

I am 37 weeks an I dialated 1cm 2 an I jus walked up an down my steps 10 times did 20 squats an walked in place for 10 mins an I'm startin tu feel my contractions become more stronger

I have heard it gives you really bad diahrea. And isnt all that healthy for the baby. But ive never done it!

castor oil can actually be dangerous.. it can cause the baby to have a bowel movement inside & cause a lot of problems if ingested.

castor oil really just irritates your bowels, which could bring on labor/contractions, but that's not something you really want to have going on while giving birth.. I wouldn't recommend anyone taking that stuff.

try talking to your OB about safe things you can do to help bring on labor IF he/she feels your baby is ready.. good luck!! (((:

If your body is ready it apparently does. It's a natural laxetive so make sure you stay hydrated otherwise the baby can go into distress.
