I didn't call her an animal but I love how everyone blew that out of proportion. Lol I said she was pregnant, not an animal therefore in my opinon she shouldn't eat dirt or suck on rocks.. I think being called ignorant is uncalled for. Thanks you ladies for displaying your stupidity and maturity level when all I was doing was trying to help.

Aubree23, I'm sorry if that seemed mean to you - it was not my intention. Just trying to give you a different perspective. If I craved dirt and started sucking on rocks and eating dirt, I would feel like an animal. Lol

I craved soap and ice when I was pregnant and it turned out I was anemic, do not eat dirt or anything like that, when you crave non food items it almost always means that your missing something vital in your diet. Talk to your doc x

When i was pregnant with my twins i use to crave eatting the bubbles off the top of the laundry soap. It so good and i didn't do it too many times but i have heard of people eatting dirt if doctor says it's ok then do as u please don't let anyone else tell u what to do... With this pregnancy it's all about ice i dream about sitting in a kiddy pool and eatting ice all day lol

What you're describing is a condition called pica. It's not uncommon but it is dangerous. Don't give in to the craving, don't eat nonfood items, it's not good for you or your fetus. Talk to your doctor about what you can do to help keep yourself healthy.

I know Im not a animal so that was uncalled for and ppl have cravings even when they are not pregnant just as some ppl crave ice its nothing wrong with it and Ive talked to my dr and my iron level is very good its just something that I like its not a everyday thing.

Ok your pregnant not an animal. Please do not suck on a rock or eat dirt. Yea it may not be harmful but I highly doubt it has nutritional value! Sometime you just gotta force yourself to eat the good stuff even if you don't want to. Cravings are just that, cravings! Don't let them control you!  Think of it this way, if you weren't pregnant and you had cravings for dirt, would you eat it?? I don't think so.

If you crave sand or dirt, that means that your body is missing something vital from your diet. You need to talk to your doctor and re-evaluate your food intake.
