Milk -tmi- plz answer

Okay so unfortunately I have to hand express my colostrum. My doctor reassured me I wouldn't lose my supply if I did.. I'm a double g-cup and if I don't I will not have a bra that fits me..

So I went a week without milking until I started leaking and I had to because its too hot for nursing pads.

I had so much colostrum stored I could believe it, 40 minutes of steady stream and it finally turned to a dribble.

Does anyone know if this is bad? Have I lost my colostrum? It looks exactly the same but in overwhelming amounts.

My sis in law lost all her milk trying to pump early. Guess it just depends where youre at what advice you get. I know until baby has been delivered the components in your colostrum will not change to actual milk.

Yes I'm 24 weeks.. my doctor said only to do it when needed and my lactation consultant said that my body would replace anything I expressed. It would stay colostrum until the baby was born. Her only remark was to be careful after birth because I would create oversupply.

Are you still pregnant?? If so expressing prior to birth can run down your milk supply and even cause you to not be able to create more milk during/for future pregnancies. Hence ahy nipple stimilation to try and trigger contractions isnt a popular suggestion amongst doctors.
