Clomid and Cancer?

As you might already know, I had a mc in Dec.  My cycles haven't regulated yet and I'm not 100% sure that I have ovulated each month (this month I didn't get a pos. opk...last month I did...my cm isn't coinciding with my fertility friend tempings that say I ov'd...etc.) SO my doctor had said to me in February that if my cycles weren't normal in a couple months that she could give me something to help me out with regularity and ov'ing...I made an appointment for Tuesday and I am assuming that she might give me Clomid?  I know someone who was a DES baby (her mom took a hormone that was given in the 70's to help prevent mc but it turned out to give MANY of the mom's cancer and caused the daughters to have T shaped uteruses which were incapable of carrying a child AND caused a higher rate of cancers too so a lot of moms and daughters went through hysterectomies together...)  Well, I read up a little about Clomid and it seems that there is some evidence out that says Clomid is a drug 'relative' of DES and that it can be linked to cancer too...I also read the opposite that it can lead to a decreased risk of cancer?!?  Does anybody have any knowledge on this subject...anybody else research Clomid before they took it??????  Scared, confused and really want to be a mommy (and a healthy mommy!)

i have never heard of the cancer connections, but i took clomid to help with me and after 5 months fell pregnant with now my 7 month old. and it look as though i might have to take it again when i want to try for another. i had no troubles with the clomid. you can always talk to you Re if you have any queries cause i'm sure they will give you all the info, all clomid does is stimulate the ovaries to release the egg. good luck

Even if you haven't heard of a cancer connection...if anyone is taking clomid or took clomid, could they give me some insight into their experience and choice to take it????

THANKS!

Heather
