Yeah I had that problem and there are some stool softeners that the doc said I can take, its Walmart brand, as long as does NOT have a laxative in it It's fine, that's all he told me lol

no its not hurting the baby first off.. but it can lead to hemorrhoids from pushing and straining. Ask your dr what you can take if there are any stool softeners or something. But you can try benifiber, or milk of magnesia, or miralax. Make sure you are drinking lots and lots of water though as that will help also. Its very common to get constipated during pregnancy so though. I had that problem before and during pregnancy and its horrible. May sound strange but even taking a warm bath can sometimes help and warm baths are totally fine during pregnancy. As long as its not over 100F but bath water cools down quickly anyways unlike a hot tub it stays a constant temp. Even my dr said a hot tub is fine to use as long as its not set over 100F and no longer than 20 minute increments of being in there. good luck to you. But your baby is fine.
