Blessings to you as well and good luck!! It's an exciting time to be expecting a baby -- congratulations!
Sure well do that .thank you. God bless.
Oh! Got it. Take your insurance card and they call and tell you what the situation is or you can prepare ahead of time by calling and asking them to explain it to you. good luck dear!
Thank you. .I am on my 4 week and bit confused on insurance stuff n cost prior my first ob appointment.
I think that when they see prenatal care on your insurance claim forms from the doctor, they are then 'informed' that you are pregnant. Does that make sense? I never called my insurance company about it but claims were filed with codes that indicated it. From 8 weeks on, I had ob codes of pregnancy.
The hospital for delivery is basically whatever hospital coverage you have usually. Look at your forms from when you last enrolled . . . or go online to your benefits department. You can find what your insurance coverage is. good luck
Usually they know about your pregnancy from your ob visits. Then you go in to the hospital early before the baby and fill out your paperwork for labor. Mine was done 3 weeks before my due date. Bills from the hospital are separate from bills from the ob office and they show up after the birth, obviously. I had things separated out (by the hospital per their policies) and was even billed separately by the anesthesiologist who administered my epidural. I had a 10 percent copay of the total amount due.
I'm sure each person has a unique situation though.
Thank you .your response was very helpful
Thank you dear.but do we have to inform the insurance about the pregnancy ? If so by when we have to?
You do not have to inform the insurance provider that you are pregnant. However you should contact them and see if you have maternity coverage, this will help cover ob appts and hospital expenses. What my ob office did was have me pay a co pay for my early visits, then towards the end they set up a payment plan so that we would have our ob paid off before I was 34 weeks. It's also good to call 30 days before your due date and see about getting a breast pump on your insurance, if you are planning on pumping.
Depends on what your deductible is. I have a $500 deductible and then I pay 10% up to 1200. So the whole child birth experience is 1700. Also have nursery charges and circumcision if a boy that will only be covered after I pay $1000 family deductible. Unlesss, you have caresource or government insurance. Wish!
