This is my first so I don't know how labor is going to be for me, but ever since I was younger the thought of the epidural has always scared me cus of the paralyzing it can cause (I don't know statistics but I still don't like the idea of it) and then I read someone give a list of the cons of the epidural and it made me more gun-ho for doing natural. I have back pain I don't need more or an increase, my periods were pretty bad, I didn't handle them well but I will try for this. Good luck in what you decide in the end.
I guess it just depends in how much pain your in right ? I hope I don't have to take it I really want it to be all natural (:
I had back pains to begin with. So when they told me it could cause back problems I didn't really care. The only thing that scared me, was when they said if I move during it, I could get paralyzed. Other then that it help BIG TIME with pain. I didn't know I was in labor cuz I was only 30 weeks so I thought it was just back pain. It had me on the floor rolling around in pain. After so many hours I was on the verge of crying! That epidural works wonders lol
I didn't get the epidural I had my son all natural and I have really bad back pains so I dont think it matters cuz I get really bad back pains all the time. And yes labor is like cramps but alotttttt more painful. I am pregnant with my second child and I dont plan on getting the epidural I'm planning on all natural again. Good luck tho(:
I am also the biggest baby when I have period cramps lol I can't handle them at all so when I went n2 labor I thought I was dying lol the epidural saved my life and I haven't any issues at all. My back was a little itchy after they removed the tape but after that went away I was fine
Oh no it helps lots!!!! Pain killer doesn't even begin to describe it lol
Does it really help when going into labor or is it just like a pain killer ?
I've done an epidural twice and I will be doing it again! My first was 8 years ago and I've never had problems after from it
