Wow, great story @kolina24. The burning was something I remembered. Did you ask for a midwife & home - water birth when 1st finding out? How did that come about?
had a home water birth four months ago. I woke up at 7am cuz I was having back pain and couldn't sleep. My husband was gone and the contractions wouldn't go away. (I was having contractions on and off the whole week so I didn't think much of it) so I called my husband (who was two hours away) and he had his mom come over to see if she thought I was in labor, which I was. Contractions really were not that bad. I was able to talk through them. At 7pm we filled up the birth pool and my midwife showed up at 9pm, she checked me and i was 8cm. When transition came, thats when contrantions got pretty intense and I could no longer talk when I was having one. I pushed for an hour. I gave birth to my daughter on hands and knees in the pool, at 12:11am July 16th. She was 8.13 and 20.5 in. The worst part for me was the burn when her head was crowning. Squattingduring contractions helps so much! I lost my mucus plug that day and ny water didn't brake until her head was about to crown. I was so ccalm there was no stress. I loved it. Yeah it hurt a little but it was not horrible. I never screamed or cried and I have a low pain tolerance. I did tear but it wasn't deep, I still needed stitches though cuz it was long.
