Wanting to know

When do midwives or OB start checking for dilatation? Starting at what week?

I got my cervic checked yesterday and im 32 weeks and 3 days

My ob won't do it till 38 weeks,and i had to ask about when they would check me

In uk, they won't check until 40 weeks unless there's a medical motif ( bleeding, pain...

My midwife didn't check me until I was more than 12 hours into active labor and I asked for an update. If you're not in labor or experiencing complications there is absolutely no reason to routinely check ahead of time. It doesn't tell you or your provider anything of any use whatsoever, and increases the risk of infection and cervical irritation. And you do have the right to refuse, if you have a provider who wants to do it anyway.

Im due December 13 as well. Got checked today...only at a 1 =(

Thank you ladies. I ask because I'm a ftm so this is all new for me plus my ob hasn't tell me anything about it yet. By the way I'm 31 weeks and 5 days

i was wondering the same a female who is due on the same day as me dec.13 got checked and she is already 2cm dialated but im hoping at my next visit she checks me ill be 37 and one day
